Tuesday's Tips & Tricks: Soup is Cool

The weather is chilly in the morning and evening, so you know what that means?  It is time to make soup!  I have a gas stove and when I make soup, it gets really HOT.  I decided to find out what is the best way to cool it down before you eat it.  My mom said to blow on it, but I thought I should check and see if she was correct.

If you dip your spoon in the soup and hold the spoon full of soup out of the bowl, it takes 103 seconds for it to cool down enough so you don't burn your mouth.

If you blow on it like mom says, it takes 66 seconds to cool down.  Once again Mom is right.  Why do I ever doubt her?

My new cookbook is available at schools, businesses, hospitals, and book fairs in cities across the United States.  Be sure to pick up a copy or two, when you see them.  They make great gifts!
