1. If I am going to mince garlic, I place the garlic clove on the cutting board. I take my chef knife and place it over the garlic, sharp edge facing away from me.
2. If I want to keep the garlic clove whole, I place the clove on a rubber jar opener.

I always smash it with the knife, never tried your other way.
ReplyDeleteThat is the way I usually do it to.
DeleteI just use a knife. Waiting for Friday.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to deal with garlic.
DeleteI always do the "knife smash" ~ I've never tried the grip . . . wouldn't it smell? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThe jar grip, cleans up easily with soap and water. After it dries, it just smells like rubber.
DeleteI love the idea of using a rubber jar opener to take the garlic skin off-that's an awesome idea. I will remember that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your garlic tips.

Thanks for stopping by, Velva!
DeleteSmashing the cloves is also therapeutic after a long day at work ;)
