Yesterday was the first day of the Iowa State Fair. I love this fair! I grew up in Iowa, so being here at the fair brings back so many happy memories of being here with my friends and family when I was a kid. On Tuesday I will take you on a tour of some of my favorite things to do and see at the fair.
I judged a Holiday Desserts and Cookie contest on Thursday. The winning recipes were incredible! Simple and delicious.
I get the recipes for the winning recipes in a couple of days and will post them at that time. Keep checking back because you won't want to miss them!

ReplyDeleteLinda, I love, love, love state fairs! There is just something so wholesome and wonderful about going to the fair... well, maybe the food you eat while there is not so wholesome (In Texas we will deep fry ANYTHING... and, it's all good). But, I love all the quilts and art and food contests... the animals and the music... The Bird Show is outstanding... I ramble... October will be here before you know it!! Fair time for us. Looking forward to the recipes! I think my grandson would love the malted pudding!
ReplyDeleteLinda, you prove there's nothing like a state fair! That second cake is amazing and very creative, love the Holstein top! And the one below it is great, typifying summer and food at the fair!
