Grilled Cabbage

Grilled Cabbage Follow Me on Pinterest

1 head cabbage
2/3 cup melted butter
8 slices cooked bacon, cooked crumbled, or turkey bacon or real bacon bits

Slice cabbage into 8 slices.

Place cabbage wedges onto sheets of aluminum foil.  Brush butter on both sides of cabbage wedge.

Sprinkle bacon on wedges. Pepper to taste.

Wrap foil around wedges.  Grill over medium high heat 10 minutes on both sides or until softened and light golden brown on edges.

My great grandmother, made skillet cabbage with lots of butter and bacon.  I loved it!  But sorry grandma, this is my new favorite way to make cabbage.  It is quick and easy to make, with very little clean up.  It is so full of flavor, that even if you are not a cabbage fan, this recipe will make you one.

  1. I confess I do not understand the point of firing up a grill and then wrapping things in foil. One could achieve the same result by just sauteing in one or two large pans on top of the stove - and get some caramelization as well.

  2. This sounds great, Linda and I'm going to try it. Love that cabbage!

  3. Howdy this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if
blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

  4. I love cabbage and this sounds like a great new idea to me. Have a good weekend Diane

  5. I love grilled cabbage, in particular I use red, I'll have to try it with the white! Have a great day!

  6. I haven't ever tried it in the packs like that, I usually just do it straight on the grill. I think your technique is better for that cooked texture, I was just using mine for slaw.

  7. Look delicious, I got to try this soon!

  8. Our readers over at Mr. Food would LOVE this recipe! They can't get enough of cabbage and this sounds absolutely delicious. We’d love for you to submit a similar recipe to The Search for the Ultimate Weeknight Meal, offering a grand-prize to one lucky blogger who will tape a segment to air on national TV!
