Buffalo Turkey Burgers

1 pound ground turkey
1 stalk of celery, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce, divided
4 to 6 tablespoons blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing
4 hamburger buns

In large bowl, combine turkey, celery, garlic salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce.

Mix well. divide the meat mixture into 4 sections.

Make 4 turkey patties.

Grill over medium high heat until cooked through.
Basting with the buffalo wing sauce while it is cooking.

You may want to grill them on a sheet of aluminum foil sprayed with non stick cooking spray if they are too soft to place straight on the grill.

Place the patties on hamburger buns.  I like to toast mine first.

Spread dressing on top of burgers.  Makes 4 servings.

I broke one on the most important steps when you make a recipe!  I found the recipe on Gingerlock's Kitchen several weeks ago and I couldn't wait to try it.  Instead of going back and rereading the recipe, I tried to make it from memory.  I always tell people to be sure and read the recipe before you, make it and I broke that rule!

I added the celery to the turkey meat.  On Jordan's blog Gingerlock's Kitchen, she puts it on top of the burger along with the dressing.  My husband is not a big celery fan and would never had but them on the burger, so by mixing it in, I tricked him into eating it.  The celery also made the burgers really juicy.  So I guess it was a good mistake to make.

Thanks Jordan for the recipe!  We loved it and will be making it again and again!

Easy Salad Dressing

1/2 cup Aloic Organic Aloe Vera Drink
1/2 cup olive oil
1 (0.7 ounce) packet Italian salad dressing mix

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients.  Whisk until well blended.

This recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

I like to test my recipes on my friends.  When I first started doing that, they were all very nice in the comments they made.  Fast forward several years and hundreds of dishes later, they now all think they are all professional food critics and are brutally honest.  I guess that is a good thing, but it sure was easier in the early days.

This tasty dressing was a hit with everyone!  I only received positive comments.  Yeah!  One person even thought I had added some white wine to the dressing.  The Aloic Organic Aloe Vera Drink has a slight grape flavor, so that was a good guess.  I will be making this tasty dressing again!

Slow Cooker Meatball Soup

Slow Cooker Meatball Soup

1 (16 ounce) package frozen meatballs
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans Cream of Mushroom Soup with Garlic
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 cup water

In slow cooker, combine all ingredients.

Mix well. Cover.  Cook on low 4 to 5 hours.  I have let this soup cook for over 8 hours before and it was still perfect.  It is also delicious served over egg noodles or rice.

This a creamy and rich beefy soup.  It takes less than two minutes to prep in the morning.  It was a big hit with my husband!

Grilled Cabbage

Grilled Cabbage Follow Me on Pinterest

1 head cabbage
2/3 cup melted butter
8 slices cooked bacon, cooked crumbled, or turkey bacon or real bacon bits

Slice cabbage into 8 slices.

Place cabbage wedges onto sheets of aluminum foil.  Brush butter on both sides of cabbage wedge.

Sprinkle bacon on wedges. Pepper to taste.

Wrap foil around wedges.  Grill over medium high heat 10 minutes on both sides or until softened and light golden brown on edges.

My great grandmother, made skillet cabbage with lots of butter and bacon.  I loved it!  But sorry grandma, this is my new favorite way to make cabbage.  It is quick and easy to make, with very little clean up.  It is so full of flavor, that even if you are not a cabbage fan, this recipe will make you one.

Slow Cooker Tex-Mex Barbecue Beef Sandwich

Slow Cooker Tex-Mex Barbeque Beef Sandwich

4 -5 1/2 pounds beef roast
1 (17 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
1 cup salsa

In slow cooker, place roast.  Pour barbecue sauce

and salsa over top.

Cover with lid.  Cook on low 8 to 10 hours.

Shred using forks.  Serve on buns.  Makes 10 servings.

I love this recipe!  It is so easy to pop it in the slow cooker and be out the door in under 5 minutes.  You don't have to brown the roast, making it a super quick recipe.

We had lots of company last week, which means it was a good time to develop and test recipes on my friends!  This recipe was a big hit with them.  With the weather being so hot, I loved how I could fix a delicious meal for them, without heating the kitchen, or spending a lot of time preparing lunch.  Less prep time, means more friend time!

Cake In A Cup

Cake In A Cup Mix

1 (16 ounce) box Angel Food cake
1 (15.25 ounce) box cake mix, any flavor

In large bowl, combine cake mixes.

Mix well.

Place in a re-seal-able plastic bag or a storage container.

To Make A Cake In A Cup

3 tablespoons Cake In A Cup Mix
2 tablespoons water
Optional: Nuts or Chocolate Chips

Place cake mix and water in a coffee cup or mug.  Add nuts or chocolate chips if desired.  Mix well.

Microwave 1 minute.

I was recently in Atlanta, Georgia and a friend gave me this recipe.  The Cake In A Cup recipe that I had before called for an egg and water.  The Angle Food cake mix has an egg in it so you can eliminate the egg in this recipe.

This is a perfect quick fix when you are having a snack attack!  You can make a fresh personalized cake anytime you have a craving.  Dust it with powdered sugar, frost it, or eat it plain.  Anyway you do it, you are going to enjoy it!
