Oops! Easy Clean Up Tip

My family loves eggs.  We consumed them even when they were on the "Bad" food list.  Now that eggs are on the "Good" list again, we can eat eggs without feeling judged by the food police.

Cooking more eggs means there are more chances for me to drop one or two.  I really try hard not to, but some how I am always making a mess in the kitchen.  Eggs make a big mess when dropped on the floor.

One morning as I was fixing breakfast, my Mom called.  I dropped an egg and complained to my Mom about how hard it was to clean up egg from the floor.  She told me to sprinkle about 3 tablespoons of salt over the egg and let it set for a couple of minutes, then whipping it up will be easier.  I always do what my Mom tells me (well not always, but don't tell her that), so I followed her directions.

It was amazing!  Instead of the slimy egg moving all over the floor, I was able to wipe it up easily.  Unfortunately, I have used this tip several times since that phone call.

On Friday I will post my recipe for,
Tuna Noodle Casserole.

  1. I don't often drop eggs but I will remember that tip for when I do. Thanks Diane

  2. Your egg caught my eye....I too enjoy eggs any old way. Good tip to know......speaking of eggs, I made egg salad on thin bagels last night for dinner. It was wonderful:)

  3. It's a great tip and I know it works as I've done that more than once.

  4. Thank you for another great tip; been there done that and what a mess.

  5. Thanks for the tip. Congrats on the win!

  6. I might be jinxing myself, but I don't think I've ever dropped an egg.

  7. Linda Thanks for the great tip.....love eggs too.

  8. This is a great tip, so then when you scrape it up and back into the pan, it is already seasoned. Then you just have to tell the kids they are getting scramble eggs instead of fried.

What? Why is everyone looking at me like I'm a horrible person? ha ha

    Great tip.
